This rare beautiful blue stone is the birthstone for December. It is a fairly new gemstone (discovered in 1967) and shares the month of December with Turquoise.

Tanzanite is a communication stone. It is believed to bring a peaceful state to an overactive mind and help one speak the truth. Tanzanite is a calming stone and is said to enhance composure and harmony. It is also believed to strengthens the immune system.
